On January 5, 2023, Zbigniew Preisner and Friendsperformed “Old and New Carols” at Cavatina Hall in Bielsko‑Biała. The concert marked a return of Preisner’s beloved winter series after a hiatus, presenting a blend of timeless traditional carols and new compositions reflecting his signature emotional depth and cinematic sensibility.
Preisner, internationally acclaimed for his film scores including “The Double Life of Véronique” and the “Three Colours” trilogy, was joined by long-time collaborators and vocalists Beata Rybotycka, Maciej Balcar, Edyta Krzemień, Joanna Pocica, and Jan Karpiel‑Bułecka with his folk ensemble, accompanied by a talented group of instrumentalists. The performance created an intimate and contemplative atmosphere, enhanced by the warm acoustics of Cavatina Hall, allowing the audience to fully experience the subtle nuances and emotional richness of Preisner’s music.
